Moonlight Waltz

Love embraces with tender arms. You are the purpose and the intent…

Moonlight Beach

 …Reaching for his bride

as the sands of time

sift through the years.

Love’s grace etched in the moonlight –

A waltz between heaven and earth

with the world left to work itself out.

Tonight all that matters.

Her heart beating in tune.

A stranger taking them for two young lovers –

Her smile effacing the stars.

Have you ever seen a prettier bride?

His eyes telling their story.

She was his to hold til the end of time.

No greater fate ever granted a man.

Forty years no match for a spirit

unmoved by a thousand rainy skies.

Instead, her spirit grown stronger with each raindrop

to beat the cancer that almost got its way.

A single scar left to remind them.

But tonight an ode to life.

The years washing out to sea

as they listen to the waves

singing their song of forty years ago.

The moon holding its breath while they dance.

So poignant Brenda. Beautiful, romantic, hopeful and sad. Even the most successful love stories end in heartbreak eventually. This poem reminds me to appreciate the love that I have around me every minute of every day. 🙂
